One of IndieWire's
“Ten Filmmakers You Should Know”
Carrie Schrader is a filmmaker who tells Shero underdog stories. She wrote and directed the feature-length documentary, The Founders (Peacock, Amazon) and directed the short film, Don't Mess with Texas, by Ethan Coen (Coen Brothers). She has directed spots for Netflix and AMC, and has participated in the Orchard Project Episodic Lab, the Outfest Screenwriting Lab, and IFP, and placed at the Austin Film Festival.
She was named one of the "Top Ten Directors to Watch Out For" by IndieWire. Her short films have won film festival awards internationally. She was recently hired to write two feature-length films and her television pilot has just attached a show runner! She is the actress/creator of #nicewhitemom satire videos, which take a comical look at how white women perpetuate racism. Carrie has a very expensive but surprisingly useful MFA in directing from Columbia University, and will be forever-proud of her early days as a theater nerd.
Carrie will show up not only prepared, but one step ahead. Best of all, her work constantly surprises me. She can light up any room, is great with people, has an easy going spirit with a professional voice and a strong ability to lead, but she also has a subversive, very unique viewpoint that adds that little bit of magic to every screen story she tells.
